“The joint of the brows and the nose — that is the joint of the heaven here and of the world beyond; and this joint the knowers of Brahman revere as the twilight. This avimukta is to be revered; and who knows this thus, he expounds the knowledge of the avimukta.”

The answer is given, and it sets the sought thing at the point between the brows.
The word said is sandhi — “joint, junction” — and it is repeated three times, each time of something else.
The first joint: of the brows and the nose — a place on the face. The second: “of the heaven here and of the world beyond” — the boundary of two worlds. The third: sandhyā, the twilight — the joint of day and night, the hour when the brāhmaṇa performs his daily prayer.
Three joints are named with one word and declared one and the same.
Here is the point. A joint is always neither this nor that: neither day nor night; neither this world nor that; neither brow nor face. And this whole book has sought exactly such a thing: the fourth, which is neither waking, nor dream, nor oblivion.
The sandhyā, then, is no appointed hour of rite, but an image of the state in which alone the Unforsaking one can be met.
And the paragraph's last words: “who knows this thus, he expounds the knowledge of the avimukta” — that is, he becomes able to pass it to another. Knowledge here does not end with the knower.
