ततो जिष्णुः सहस्राक्षं खं वितत्येषुभिः शितैः ॥
योधयाम् आस संक्रुद्धो वञ्चनां ताम् अनुस्मरन् ॥
देवराड् अपि तं दृष्ट्वा संरब्धम् इव फल्गुनम् ॥
स्वम् अस्त्रम् असृजद् दीप्तं यत् ततानाखिलं नभः ॥

tato jiṣṇuḥ sahasrākṣaṃ khaṃ vitatyeṣubhiḥ śitaiḥ ||
yodhayām āsa saṃkruddho vañcanāṃ tām anusmaran ||
devarāḍ api taṃ dṛṣṭvā saṃrabdham iva phalgunam ||
svam astram asṛjad dīptaṃ yat tatānākhilaṃ nabhaḥ ||

Translation
"Then Jishnu, covering the sky with sharp arrows against the thousand-eyed one, entered battle, enraged, remembering that deception; and the king of the gods, seeing Phalguna so infuriated, hurled his own blazing weapon, which covered the whole sky."

Here a man dares to fight the very king of the gods. It is significant that Arjuna does not fear to contend with Indra: shielded by Krishna, he stands equal even to the celestials. Closeness to the Lord raises the devotee above fear. Thus the scripture reveals Arjuna's daring; and the wondrous battle with Indra begins.
