Traducción

Then is told the Karna-parva, most wondrous. [Here] is the appointment of the wise king of Madra (Shalya) as [Karna's] charioteer, and the ancient tale of the destruction of Tripura is told. On the way [between them] a harsh quarrel broke out, and [there follows] the reproachful tale of the swan and the crow. [Then] — mutual anger between Yudhishthira and Arjuna, and in single combat of two chariots Arjuna slew the great warrior Karna. Such is the eighth parva, in the reckoning of the knowers of Bharata: sixty-nine chapters and four thousand nine hundred verses.
