गायत्री वा इदं सर्वं यदिदं किञ्च तस्माद्य एतां महालक्ष्मीं याजुषीं वेद महतीं श्रियमश्नुते

译文
The gāyatrī is all this, whatever there is; therefore who knows this Mahālakṣmī of the yajus obtains great prosperity.

A short paragraph, and in it the famous assertion: gāyatrī vā idaṁ sarvam — “the gāyatrī is all this”.
The Chāndogya says the same and explains at length: the gāyatrī is speech, speech is everything, therefore the gāyatrī is everything; and it adds that its fourth foot stands beyond the bound.
Here it is said more briefly and applied to the mantra of Lakṣmī.
Note that the fruit named is earthly: mahatīṁ śriyam aśnute — “obtains great prosperity”.
In this book such promises attend every limb, and I have noted already that it is not ashamed of them. But it is telling that with the Sāvitrī an anointing with prosperity was promised, and with Lakṣmī — prosperity itself.
The correspondence is exact: to the solar mantra — royal dignity; to the goddess's mantra — wealth.
The next paragraph will name the fourth limb, and it will be addressed to Him himself.
