The eighth name is Gaurī, “the bright one”, the consort of Śiva, who is also Umā and Pārvatī.
She is set right after Śrī, and this order is the same as in the masculine triad: after Viṣṇu went Maheśvara, after Śrī goes Gaurī.
That is, the litany leads two lines in pairs: Brahmā and Sarasvatī, Viṣṇu and Śrī, Maheśvara and Gaurī.
Note that the name gaurī means “bright, white”, and “yellow”, and “cow”. The last will return in the next paragraph, where prakṛti will be named: we read in the fifth verse of the Māntrikā that prakṛti is “the cow without beginning and without end”.
The two names stand side by side not by chance.
