The twenty-sixth name is antaka, “the one who ends, who brings to a close”.
This name too is applied to Yama, but it means something else. Yama judges; Antaka ends. The first is of justice, the second of the very act of the limit.
Three names in a row on one subject: death, Yama, the Ender. The book is in no hurry to leave this matter.
Note why a doxology needs such a name.
Because everything has an end, and man knows this better than anything else. The thought that all will end can be borne, if one knows whose work it is. What is unbearable is the other thing: that things end of themselves, with no face at all.
The book therefore names the Ender by name.
