The thirty-seventh mantra names Hiraṇyagarbha — “the Golden Womb” or “the Golden Germ”.
This name is from the famous hymn of the Ṛg-veda: “In the beginning arose the Golden Germ; born, he became the one lord of what is.” In Vedānta it names the first, subtlest manifestation of the Highest in the universe — the soul of the cosmos, the sum of all subtle bodies.
He is also identified with Brahmā the creator.
Note who utters this doxology. By the chapter's first paragraph — Brahmā himself, taught by Rāma in Satyaloka.
That is, the creator names Rāma that which is called by his own name.
In this is the whole measure of the confession here. The praiser reserves no place for himself: himself too he names the Praised One.
The next mantra will name Virāṭ — the gross manifestation of the same — and so complete the pair: the subtle and the gross body of the universe.
