The description of consciousness continues, and in it stands a word that arrests the eye: amala-saṃsāra — “the stainless round”.
Saṁsāra is called immaculate.
This is no slip. For one who sees it svarūpa-eka-ātma — “as the single essence of his own nature” — there is nothing bad in it, because the bad lay in the division, not in it.
This echoes 4.53: when the turmoil subsided, the seen “came to its being”.
Note the expression ākāśa-śata-bhāga-acchā — “clearer than space by a hundred parts”. The comparison with space was in the previous verse; here consciousness proves clearer than even that.
Niṣkala-rūpiṇī — “appearing without parts”, and it is said: jñeṣu, “among the knowing”. One and the same thing presents itself whole to the knower and fragmented to the rest.
