दृश्यमाश्रयसीदं चेत्तत्सच्चितोऽसि बन्धवान् दृश्यं सन्त्यजसीदं चेत्तदाऽचित्तोऽसि मोक्षवान्

तदा अ-चित्तः असि मोक्ष-वान्tadā a-cittaḥ asi mokṣa-vānthen thou art mindless and free; then thou art without mind and possessed of freedom

“If thou resortest to this seen — thou art with mind and bound; if thou leavest it — thou art without mind and free.”

The verse gathers the whole teaching into one fork.
Hold to the seen — there is mind, there is bondage. Leave it — no mind, and freedom.
Note the verb āśrayasi — “thou resortest, takest refuge”. The same root as āśraya.
An important word in such a place. The question is not whether you look at things, but what you resort to, what you lean upon.
Recall 6.24, where the question was put exactly so: to what one thing shall I resort.
Sa-citta and a-citta — “with mind” and “without mind”. The pair has been examined already (4.6, 4.51).
All is said in four words, and therefore this verse is easy to remember.
