संस्मरन्तो विमनसो व्यपयाता नराधिप ॥
पृथक्त्वेन द्रुता राजन् संक्षिप्य महतीं श्रियम् ॥
प्रपतामो भयात् तस्य सधनज्ञातिबान्धवाः ॥

Translation
"Then we, O great king, recalling that counsel held before, departed grieving, O lord of men; hastening separately, O king, and gathering up [what we could of] our great wealth, we fled in fear of him, with our possessions, kin, and kindred."

Here Krishna recounts his clan's flight without shame. It is telling that the Lord does not conceal even what is unflattering to his own: a truthful counselor does not embellish even his own account. Thus scripture shows Krishna's humility and honesty as a model of sincere counsel; and what follows tells of their new refuge.
