रमन्ते योगिनोऽनन्ते नित्यानन्दे चिदात्मनि । इति रामपदेनासौ परं ब्रह्माभिधीयते

“The yogins delight in the endless, ever-blissful, conscious Ātman” — hence by the word “Rāma” the highest Brahman is named.

The sixth and last interpretation of the name, and it takes the root ram in its direct sense: “to delight, to find joy, to rest with pleasure”.
It is said: yogino ramante — “the yogins delight”. In whom? “In the endless, ever-blissful, conscious Ātman.” And therefore He in whom they find joy is called Rāma.
This is the deepest of the six parsings, and it shifts the accent. Before, the name was explained by what He does: gives, subdues, delights. Here — by what is done in Him: they stop and rejoice.
The name, then, names not a property of the Bearer, but what He proves to be for those who come. Rāma is He upon whom one rests.
And it is said outright where all this leads: “hence by the word ‘Rāma’ the highest Brahman is named”. Six verses parsed the name of the prince of Ayodhyā and came to this: the name belongs to the Highest.
Note the echo with the end of the first part of the Gopāla-tāpanī, where the same link is made otherwise: there Kṛṣṇa was called “sac-cid-ānanda-vigraha”. Here the order is reversed — from the name to Brahman, not from Brahman to the form; but both moves meet at one point.
