ओं यो ह वै श्रीरामचन्द्रः स भगवान् ये च नवग्रहा भूर्भुवः सुवस्तस्मै वै नमो नमः

Oṁ. He who is Śrī-Rāmacandra — He is the Lord, and He is all the nine planets. Earth, mid-air, heaven! To him be bow upon bow.

The thirtieth mantra names the navagraha — the nine “graspers”: the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn and the two unseen ones, Rāhu and Ketu.
The word graha means “the grasping, the seizing”, and in this is the whole point. The planets in the Indian reckoning are not mere luminaries: they take a man into their terms and hold him.
We met this word in the fifty-sixth verse of the fourth Upaniṣad of the pūrva: there the speech was of the rite graha-māraṇa, “the slaying of the seizure”, which the mantra of Nṛsiṃha serves. I said then that graha means everything that has seized a man — an illness, a possession, an evil star.
And now the seizers are named He.
This is the real deliverance from the fear of the stars — not a denial of their power, but the knowledge of whose power it is.
Note Rāhu too: in the third verse of the first Upaniṣad Rāma Himself was compared with him, having covered the demons with his human form as an eclipse covers a luminary.
