हत्वा बिभीषणं तत्र स्थाप्याथ जनकात्मजाम् । आदायाङ्कस्थितां कृत्वा स्वपुरं तैर्जगाम सः

Having slain them, He installed Vibhīṣaṇa there, and took the daughter of Janaka and set her on his knee, and went with them to his own city.

The tale ends with three acts, and each answers something said before.
Vibhīṣaṇa is made king of Laṅkā. This is the second kingdom Rāma gives away: the first was given to Sugrīva. He who “bestows everything” kept not even what he had conquered.
Vibhīṣaṇa is Rāvaṇa's brother, who came over to Rāma before the battle. Of the whole race of rākṣasas he alone survived, and survived because he came.
Then Sītā: aṅka-sthitāṁ kṛtvā — “setting her on his knee”. With the same word aṅka the book described her in the eighth verse, when it drew the image for contemplation.
This is the closing of the ring. The tale that began with the abduction has returned to the very point from which the dhyāna began: she is on His knee. Thirteen verses of narrative prove to be the explanation of one feature of the diagram.
Note the last word: taiḥ, “with them”. To his city He goes not with Sītā alone but with all — the monkeys, Vibhīṣaṇa, his brother. The next verse will seat Him on the throne, and around Him will stand these same ones.
