The twenty-fourth mantra names Gaurī — “the bright one”, the consort of Śiva, she who is also called Umā and Pārvatī.
She is set right after Lakṣmī, and this order is the same as in the fifth mantra, where Viṣṇu and Maheśvara stood side by side.
The book is consistent: having named Śiva Rāma, it names his consort too.
Note that Gaurī in the tradition is the daughter of the mountain, she who won Śiva by austerity; and it is she whom the Kena Upaniṣad brings out before the gods as Umā Haimavatī, to explain to them who Brahman is.
There she is the teacher of the gods; here she is named Rāma.
The list of feminine names altogether deserves attention. Of the forty-seven mantras four in a row are given to goddesses — no small share. And the next, the twenty-fifth, will name her for whose sake the book was written.
