Two words, and the book is done.
Oṁ satyam — “Oṁ, truth”. So many Upaniṣads close, and the word satyam here is no ornament: it is an attestation, like a signature beneath what was said.
Let us look back over the way traversed.
The book began with the parsing of one name by its roots and found in it giving, subduing, beauty and joy. Then it fashioned the form, because the bodiless one needs a form for the sake of those who honour him. Then it drew the yantra with all who were with Him — from Sītā on the knee to the underworld serpents. Then it charted the rite and gave the verse one can take along without knowing either diagrams or code.
In its second half it passed to prose and spoke otherwise: of the crossing, of the four feet of the Ātman, of where the unforsaken stands, of Śiva who begged in Kāśī liberation for the worms. Then forty-seven times it named Rāma everything there is — including death. And at last it listed everything the name removes, and stopped at nothing.
And it ended with three ṛcs of the highest abode which the wakeful kindle.
What then remains? That for which all the tāpanīs were written: the Highest is not faceless; He has a name, and that name can be spoken.
