The list continues: the four last stages.
The fourth — sattva-āpatti. The word sattva means both “being” and “goodness”, the first of matter's three strands. Both senses fit here: the man has settled in what is, and has become bright.
The fifth — asaṃsakti, “non-clinging”. From saṅga, “sticking”; cf. gata-sneha in 2.47.
The sixth — padārtha-bhāvanā. The name deceives: literally “the thinking of things”, but meaning, as 5.33 will explain, the seeing of what is behind them; things cease to screen.
The seventh — turya-gā, “going into the fourth”, that is, into turya, the state beyond the usual three (cf. 4.39).
Note the ladder's design. The first three are work on oneself. The fourth is the turning-point. The last three are no longer work but a state of affairs; they, as 5.36 will say, come of themselves.
