Eight attributes in a row, and of them two deserve taking.
Śiva — “benign”. It stood already in 2.68 and was noted there: behind the negations the book still says that the goal is good.
Akāraṇa — “causeless”. This is essential: He has no cause, and therefore the question “whence is He?” is illegitimate. A cause belongs to the produced.
Anābhāsa — “without reflection”. The word ābhāsa in 4.120 meant the gleam by which everything here is named. Here it is said: He Himself has no gleam, for a gleam comes from something else.
Note too nirālamba — “without support”. Not “hanging in the void”, but “needing no prop”. The same was said otherwise in 2.8: He is not, for there is no support; and He is, for being is His nature.
