दंष्ट्राकरालानि च ते मुखानि
दृष्ट्वैव कालानलसन्निभानि ।
दिशो न जाने न लभे च शर्म
प्रसीद देवेश जगन्निवास ॥

daṁṣṭrā-karālāni ca te mukhāni
dṛṣṭvaiva kālānala-sannibhāni |
diśo na jāne na labhe ca śarma
prasīda deveśa jagan-nivāsa ||

न लभे च शर्मna labhe ca śarmaand I find (na labhe) no peace (śarma).
प्रसीदprasīdahave mercy! be gracious!
देवेशdeva-īśaO Lord of the gods!
जगन्निवासjagat-nivāsaO Refuge of the universe!
Translation
“Merely at the sight of Your mouths, terrible with their fangs and like the all-consuming fire of time, I lose all sense of direction and find no peace. Be merciful, O Lord of the gods, O Refuge of the universe!”
