यदा एतम् अनुपश्यति आत्मानं देवम् अङ्जसा ईशानं भूतभव्यस्य न ततः विजुगुप्सते

Translation
When a man sees directly this ātman as God, the Lord of what has been and what will be, he no longer turns away in loathing.

A verse as precious to the Vedānta of love as few others: the known ātman is called outright devam — God — and īśānaṁ bhūta-bhavyasya — "Lord of what has been and what will be"! Not an impersonal principle but the Lord of the ages; and He is seen añjasā — "directly, with the eyes", not by inference.
And the fruit of the vision is marvellous: na tato vijugupsate — "he no longer turns away in loathing" (does not hide, does not shrink, does not recoil). From what? From the world, from creatures, from life itself: one who has seen the Lord of past and future ceases to be disgusted by anything — it has all become His dominion (the same formula is Īśā 6). Loathing is the mark of one who does not see; love for everything is the signature of one who has seen the Lord in all.
