Traducción
This [prāṇa] and that [sun] are alike: this is warm, and that is warm. This they call sound [svara], and that sound and echo [pratyāsvara]. Therefore both this and that are to be venerated as the udgītha.

The bridge between the leaves: samāna u evāyaṁ cāsau ca — "alike are this one and that": the breath in me and the sun in the sky are one, and the evidence is simple and brilliant: uṣṇo 'yam uṣṇo 'sau — "warm is this, warm is that": the warmth of breath and the warmth of a ray are one warmth! The living heat of the body is a local sun; the sun is the world's breathing (the Praśna 3.8 built the same correspondence).
svara iti imam ācakṣate — "this they call svara (sound)": the breath is a sounding thing; svara iti pratyāsvara ity amum — "that, sound and echo": the sun is sound and its answering echo: light is the echo of the chant of life, spread over the sky. tasmād vā etam imam amuṁ codgītham upāsīta — "therefore venerate both": the inward and the heavenly are one choir; he who sings Oṁ joins it as a third.
