सः यः एवम् एतत् यज्ञायज्ञीयम् अङ्गेषु प्रोतं वेद अङ्गी भवति न अङ्गेन विहूर्छति सर्वम् आयुः एति ज्योक् जीवति महान् प्रजया पशुभिः भवति महान् कीर्त्या संवत्सरम् मज्ज्ञः न अश्नीयात् तत् व्रतम् मज्ज्ञः न अश्नीयात् इति वा

saḥ yaḥ evam etat yajñāyajñīyam aṅgeṣu protaṃ veda aṅgī bhavati na aṅgena vihūrchati sarvam āyuḥ eti jyok jīvati mahān prajayā paśubhiḥ bhavati mahān kīrtyā saṃvatsaram majjñaḥ na aśnīyāt tat vratam majjñaḥ na aśnīyāt iti vā

Traducción

He who thus knows this yajñāyajñīya woven into the members becomes whole of limb, is not crippled in any member, attains the full span of life, lives in brightness, is great in offspring and cattle, great in fame. Let him not eat marrow for a year — that is the vow; or else: let him not eat marrow at all.
