सः यः आकाशं ब्रह्म इति उपास्ते आकाशवतो वै सः लोकान् प्रकाशवतो असंबाधान् उरुगायवतो अभिसिध्यति यावत् आकाशस्य गतम् तत्र अस्य यथाकामचारः भवति यः आकाशं ब्रह्म इति उपास्ते अस्ति भगवः आकाशात् भूयः इति आकाशात् वाव भूयः अस्ति इति तत् मे भगवान् ब्रवीतु इति
saḥ yaḥ ākāśaṃ brahma iti upāste ākāśavato vai saḥ lokān prakāśavato asaṃbādhān urugāyavato abhisidhyati yāvat ākāśasya gatam tatra asya yathākāmacāraḥ bhavati yaḥ ākāśaṃ brahma iti upāste asti bhagavaḥ ākāśāt bhūyaḥ iti ākāśāt vāva bhūyaḥ asti iti tat me bhagavān bravītu iti
He who venerates space as Brahman attains worlds spacious, bright, unconfined, widely spread, and is free to move as he wishes everywhere that space reaches." — "Sir, is there anything greater than space?" — "There is something greater than space." — "Tell it to me, sir."

The reward of the expanse is worlds "unconfined" (asaṁbādha): one who venerates breadth inherits a breadth in which nothing presses or crowds. In the word itself there is a sigh of relief: confinement is suffering, spaciousness already almost happiness.
What could be greater, one might think? Space embraces everything visible. But Sanatkumāra's next step is one of the deepest on the ladder: greater than space is memory. The outer expanse must bow before the inner one, which contains it too.
