Of this there is this verse: "The seer does not see death, nor illness, nor sorrow; the seer sees all and attains all in every way." He becomes one, becomes threefold, fivefold, sevenfold and ninefold; he is spoken of as eleven, and as a hundred and eleven, and as twenty thousand. When the food is pure, the being is pure; when the being is pure, memory is firm; when memory is obtained, all knots are loosed. To such a one, whose stains are washed away, the reverend Sanatkumāra shows the shore beyond darkness. Him they call Skanda — him they call Skanda.

The chapter's close gathers everything into four chords. The first is the seer's śloka: na paśyo mṛtyuṁ paśyati — "the seer does not see death, nor illness, nor sorrow". Nārada's grief, with which everything began, is healed at the root — not because the calamities have vanished but because a gaze that sees the Boundless everywhere finds no final darkness in anything. The second: "one, threefold, fivefold…": a knower lives freely in multiplicity without losing unity — the One plays with numbers, as the Being of the sixth chapter desired to become many.
The third chord is a practical testament, precious to every devotee: āhāra-śuddhau sattva-śuddhiḥ, sattva-śuddhau dhruvā smṛtiḥ, smṛti-lambhe sarva-granthīnāṁ vipramokṣaḥ — "when the food is pure the being is pure; when the being is pure memory is firm; when memory is obtained all knots are loosed". The road to freedom runs through daily life: what you eat (and what you let in through all the gates of the senses) → what you become → what you are able to remember. The chain's summit is smṛti, memory: the very rung that proved greater than space (7.13) appears here as the key to the heart's knots. Constant remembrance — and for bhakti this is remembrance of the Lord — is itself the loosing of the knots; hence pure food (offered to him) is not dietetics but the beginning of smṛti.
And the last chord is the transmission itself: "to such a one, whose stains are washed away (mṛdita-kaṣāya), the reverend Sanatkumāra shows the shore beyond darkness" (tamasaḥ pāram darśayati). Not "tells" but shows: Nārada's request "ferry me" (7.1.3) has been granted. The teacher is called Skanda — and Skanda means "the Leaper", one who has leapt across; the tradition honours under this name the heavenly general: he who has himself overcome the river of darkness leads others across it. Here the bhūmā-vidyā ends: it began with the tears of the most learned of singers and ends at a shore beyond darkness — with the whole ladder of the world become a road Home.
