अथ जुहोति नमः वायवे अन्तरिक्षक्षिते लोकक्षिते लोकम् मे यजमानाय विन्द एषः वै यजमानस्य लोकः एतास्मि

Then he makes an oblation: "Homage to Vāyu, who dwells in the mid-region, who dwells in the world! Find a world for me, the sacrificer! This is the sacrificer's world — I am going [into it]!"

The midday oblation goes to Vāyu: namo vāyave 'ntarikṣa-kṣite — "homage to Vāyu, dweller in the mid-region": the lord of the middle expanse is the master of the midday door (morning was Agni of the earth, noon is Vāyu of the air: the addressees climb storey by storey!).
The formula of petition and entering is the same: lokam me vinda… etāsmi: "find me a world — here it is — I go": the constancy of the formula amid changing addressees is the very heart of the order: hours and gods change; what does not change is the soul's need of a world of its own and the way that need is met: homage, petition, and the faith of entering.
