उदाने तृप्यति त्वक् तृप्यति त्वचि तृप्यन्त्याम् वायुः तृप्यति वायौ तृप्यति आकाशः तृप्यति आकाशे तृप्यति यत् किंच वायुः च आकाशः च अधितिष्ठतः तत् तृप्यति तस्य अनु तृप्तिम् तृप्यति प्रजया पशुभिः अन्नाद्येन तेजसा ब्रह्मवर्चसेन इति
udāne tṛpyati tvak tṛpyati tvaci tṛpyantyām vāyuḥ tṛpyati vāyau tṛpyati ākāśaḥ tṛpyati ākāśe tṛpyati yat kiṃca vāyuḥ ca ākāśaḥ ca adhitiṣṭhataḥ tat tṛpyati tasya anu tṛptim tṛpyati prajayā paśubhiḥ annādyena tejasā brahmavarcasena iti
When the udāna is satisfied, the skin is satisfied; when the skin is satisfied, the wind is satisfied; when the wind is satisfied, space is satisfied; when space is satisfied, everything is satisfied that stands under the wind and space. And after their satisfaction he himself is satisfied — with offspring, cattle, food, vigour and the lustre of Brahman.

The fifth and last chain: udāna → skin → wind → space. The skin is a man's boundary, the wind and the ākāśa are the world's expanse: satisfying the udāna smooths out the very border between "inside" and "outside", and a man is found grafted into the world's expanse as breath is into air.
Five mouthfuls have been dealt out; five prāṇas, five senses, five tiers of the universe fed from one palm. The prāṇa-agnihotra is complete — it remains to say how it differs from the sacrifice of one who does not know, and how far its action reaches. To this the chapter's close is devoted.
