सः यः एतम् एवम् विद्वान् उपास्ते अपहते पापकृत्याम् लोकी भवति सर्वम् आयुस् एति ज्योक् जीवति न अस्य अवरपुरुषाः क्षीयन्ते उप वयम् तम् भुञ्जामः अस्मिन् च लोके अमुष्मिन् च यः एतम् एवम् विद्वान् उपास्ते

Traducción
He who, knowing this, venerates him puts away evil deeds, gains a world, attains the full span, lives long; his line does not fail. We sustain him in this world and in that — him who, knowing this, venerates him.

The promise is repeated word for word — now in the person of the southern fire. The repetition is not carelessness but ritual order: each fire seals the lesson with the same stamp, as witnesses sign one testimony in turn. The mercy of the hearth and the mercy of the fathers' fire are one mercy, from one Source.
There is a subtle consolation here as well: the southern fire is the fire of the rites of death and of the ancestors, yet even it promises "the full span of life" and an unbroken line. Where the Puruṣa behind the moon is remembered, even the mortal side of the world becomes an ally of life.
