As long as the sun rises in the west and sets in the east — twice as long does it rise in the north and set in the south, and so long does his overlordship and self-rule with the Maruts extend.

The measure of the fourth communion: an epoch of the "northern sunrise", twice as long as the western one: a fourth aeon, a fourth overturning of the sky: the sun has now gone round all four quarters as points of rising.
The circle of the quarters is exhausted — east, south, west, north: the next sunrise is possible in one direction only: upward. The ladder of nectars has come to its vertical: the fifth epoch will no longer be a turning of the sky but its transcendence — and of it the verses that follow will say something unheard of.
