The fruit: bhavanti hāsya paśavaḥ — "animals thrive with him" — paśumān bhavati — "he becomes a cattle-owner": the flock multiplies for one who honours it as a song.
Behind the "economic" promise lies a deep truth about all husbandry: a herd breeds for one who sees in it an order and a dignity, not a "head count": care grown out of reverence prospers better than care grown out of calculation — animals (and everything living) unerringly sense what they are taken for. The fivefold upāsanā of cattle is the most ancient lesson in what would now be called the ethics of husbandry: tend as you would sing — and the flock will sing.
