सः होवाच गार्ग्यः यः एव अयम् वायौ पुरुषः एतम् एव अहम् ब्रह्म उपास इति सः होवाच अजातशत्रुः मा म एतस्मिन् संवदिष्ठाः इन्द्रः वैकुण्ठः अपराजिता सेना इति वै अहम् एतम् उपास इति सः यः एतम् एवम् उपास्ते जिष्णुः ह अपराजिष्णुः भवति अन्यतस्त्यजायी
saḥ hovāca gārgyaḥ yaḥ eva ayam vāyau puruṣaḥ etam eva aham brahma upāsa iti saḥ hovāca ajātaśatruḥ mā ma etasmin saṃvadiṣṭhāḥ indraḥ vaikuṇṭhaḥ aparājitā senā iti vai aham etam upāsa iti saḥ yaḥ etam evam upāste jiṣṇuḥ ha aparājiṣṇuḥ bhavati anyatastyajāyī
Gārgya said: "The person who is in the wind — him I venerate as Brahman." Ajātaśatru said: "Do not speak to me of him! I venerate him as Indra Vaikuṇṭha, the unconquered army." He who venerates him thus becomes victorious, unconquerable, an overcomer of his adversaries.

The fifth address is the wind, and the king gives it a military rank: "Indra Vaikuṇṭha, the unconquered army" (aparājitā senā). The wind is a force with no ranks and no rear, striking from everywhere and giving no target for a blow: truly an army that cannot be beaten. The fruit is victoriousness: jiṣṇur aparājiṣṇuḥ.
To a Vaiṣṇava ear the word vaikuṇṭha is precious in itself — here still an epithet of Indra, but the tradition will fix it upon the abode of Viṣṇu: "the place where there is no kuṇṭhā, no anxiety". Words grow along with revelation: the unconquerableness the king venerates in the wind becomes, in the mature theology, the name of the world where defeats do not occur at all.
