पुरुषः वा अग्निः गौतम तस्य व्यात्तम् एव समित् प्राणः धूमः वाक् अर्चिः चक्षुः अङ्गाराः श्रोत्रं विष्फुलिङ्गाः तस्मिन् एतस्मिन् अग्नौ देवाः अन्नम् जुह्वति तस्याः आहुत्यै रेतः संभवति

Traducción
Man, Gautama, is a fire: the open mouth is its fuel, the breath its smoke, speech its flame, the eye its coals, the ear its sparks. Into this fire the gods offer food; out of this oblation seed is born.

The fourth fire is man, and the Bṛhadāraṇyaka's layout is more bodily than the Chāndogya's: the fuel is "the open mouth" (vyāttam): a man is stoked through the mouth as a stove through its door. The breath is the smoke of that stove, speech its flame.
In the man-fire the gods burn food down into seed: the finest portion of what is eaten is the substance of a future life. In this chain a man is not a consumer but an altar: it is not he who eats — an oblation is performed upon him; and the dignity of an eater is to know at which fire he serves.
