ayam ādityaḥ sarveṣām bhūtānām madhu asyādityasya sarvāṇi bhūtāni madhu yaḥ ca ayam asminn āditye tejomayaḥ amṛtamayaḥ puruṣaḥ yaḥ ca ayam adhyātmaṃ cākṣuṣaḥ tejomayaḥ amṛtamayaḥ puruṣaḥ ayam eva saḥ yaḥ ayam ātmā idam amṛtam idam brahma idam sarvam
This sun is the honey of all beings, and all beings are the honey of this sun. And the shining immortal person who is in the sun, and the shining immortal person who is in the body as sight — that is this ātman. This is the immortal, this is Brahman, this is all.

The fifth wave is sun and eye, the most celebrated of Vedic pairs (the essence of the formed world is the sun, the essence of the flesh is the eye: 2.3.2–4). The sun is the honey of all: light, warmth, the very possibility of a day; and all are the honey of the sun: the life that blossoms under it is its joy and the food of its sacrificial round.
Seeing is an exchange of honey: the eye drinks the light, the light fills the eye; and in both is "the shining immortal one", looking upon himself through the meeting of luminary and eye. The very choice of word is beautiful: not "correspondence", not "connection", but honey — the Upaniṣad wants the truth of this exchange not merely understood but tasted.
