imāḥ diśaḥ sarveṣām bhūtānām madhu āsām diśām sarvāṇi bhūtāni madhu yaḥ ca ayam āsu dikṣu tejomayaḥ amṛtamayaḥ puruṣaḥ yaḥ ca ayam adhyātmaṃ śrautraḥ prātiśrutkaḥ tejomayaḥ amṛtamayaḥ puruṣaḥ ayam eva saḥ yaḥ ayam ātmā idam amṛtam idam brahma idam sarvam
These quarters of the sky are the honey of all beings, and all beings are the honey of these quarters. And the shining immortal person who is in the quarters, and the shining immortal person who is in the body as hearing and its echo — that is this ātman. This is the immortal, this is Brahman, this is all.

The sixth wave is the quarters of the sky and hearing "with its echo" (prātiśrutka): the directions carry every sound, hearing receives it, and between them the echo darts to and fro — sound returned by space. The diśas are the honey of beings: room for a call and for a road; beings are the honey of the quarters: their voices fill the empty directions with meaning.
The subtle addition of the "echo" goes deep: the world is no deaf wall — it answers; every call has its return. An echo is the simplest image of that universal reciprocity to which the whole madhu-vidyā is devoted: shout to the world and the world gives back; and at both ends of the calling there is one Hearer.
