अनुवाद

"Three he made for himself" — mind, speech and breath: these he made for himself. People say: "My mind was elsewhere — I did not see; my mind was elsewhere — I did not hear": it is with the mind that one sees, with the mind that one hears. Desire, resolve, doubt, faith, unbelief, steadfastness, unsteadiness, modesty, understanding, fear — all this is mind. Therefore even when touched from behind a man knows it by the mind. Whatever sound there is, is speech: it reaches its end [in objects], and of itself it is not. Prāṇa, apāna, vyāna, udāna, samāna, ana — all this is breath. Of these this ātman consists: it consists of speech, it consists of mind, it consists of breath.
