And toward morning, having prepared butter in the manner of the pot-cooked rice, he offers from it: "To Agni, svāhā! To Anumati, svāhā! To the god Savitṛ, the truly-creating, svāhā!" Having offered, he takes it out and eats; having eaten, he gives to the other [his wife]. Having washed his hands and filled a vessel with water, he sprinkles her three times with it: "Rise up from here, Viśvāvasu, seek another young maiden — [leave] the wife with her husband!"

The morning of the rite of conception, with oblations to Agni, to Anumati (the goddess of gracious consent — without her "yes" no one is conceived!) and to Savitṛ "the truly-creating" (satya-prasava). The meal is divided in two: he eats and gives to her — one porridge, one work.
And the pearl of the code is the dismissal of the gandharva: Viśvāvasu, the celestial spirit, the unseen "first bridegroom" of every maiden, is bidden to rise and seek another: uttiṣṭhataḥ viśvāvaso — "leave the wife with her husband!" The marriage bed is cleared of unseen claims: before her husband, the maiden was in the care of gods, and they are seen off with honour but firmly. A knower's house is peopled not with fears but with addressees: to every power its own word.
