The culmination: salila eko draṣṭādvaito bhavati — "he becomes like water: one, a seer, without a second". The image is exact to the letter: not "a drop in the ocean" but the water itself without shores — and seeing! The draṣṭṛ remains: the unity of the depths is not blind, it sees; the non-duality of the Upaniṣad is no swoon but a sighted expanse. "This is the world of Brahman, your majesty" — eṣa brahmalokaḥ: not a place on a map but a state in God.
And four "highests": path, attainment, world, bliss (paramā gatiḥ, paramā sampat, paramo lokaḥ, parama ānandaḥ). And then the line on which all theology of joy stands: etasyaivānandasyānyāni bhūtāni mātrām upajīvanti — "on a portion of this bliss other beings live"! Every joy of every creature — from the meeting of lovers to the fullness of a beast — is a borrowed drop of one Bliss. We do not know how to rejoice in anything but Him: every happiness is a sample of Him, every rapture a quotation. The Bhāgavatam says the same: the rasa is one, and those who taste it taste Him.
