तम् एतम् सत्यकामः जाबालः अन्तेवासिभ्यः उक्त्वा उवाच अपि यः एनम् शुष्के स्थाणौ निषिञ्चेत् जायेरञ् छाखाः प्ररोहेयुः पलाशानि इति तम् एतम् न अपुत्राय वा अनन्तेवासिने वा ब्रूयात्

अनुवाद
Satyakāma Jābāla told it to his pupils and said: "Even if one poured it on a dry stump, branches would be born and leaves would sprout." But it should be told neither to one who is not a son nor to one who is not a pupil.

The chain closes: Satyakāma discloses the vidyā to "pupils" now, in the plural: the channel has widened. And at once a fence: na aputrāya vā anantevāsine vā brūyāt — "neither to a non-son nor to a non-pupil": only two vessels are trusted with fruit-bearing knowledge — one born of you and one living with you.
The restriction is not greed but agronomy: a vidyā of power given outside the bond of fatherhood or discipleship is seed on asphalt. Knowledge lives in relationships, not in texts; the Upaniṣad, itself a text, honestly says so — and thereby charges every reader to look for a living chain.
