समानः उ एव अयम् च असौ च उष्णः अयम् उष्णः असौ स्वरः इति इमम् आचक्षते स्वरः इति प्रत्यास्वरः इति अमुम् तस्मात् वा एतम् इमम् अमुम् च उद्गीथम् उपासीत

Translation

This [prāṇa] and that [sun] are alike: this is warm, and that is warm. This they call sound [svara], and that sound and echo [pratyāsvara]. Therefore both this and that are to be venerated as the udgītha.
