सः यावत् आदित्यः उत्तरतः उदेता दक्षिणतः अस्तम् एता द्विः तावत् ऊर्ध्वम् उदेता अर्वाक् अस्तम् एता साध्यानाम् एव तावत् आधिपत्यम् स्वाराज्यम् पर्येता

Translation
As long as the sun rises in the north and sets in the south — twice as long does it rise above and set below, and so long does his overlordship and self-rule with the Sādhyas extend.

The measure of the fifth communion is an epoch of an unheard-of sky: ūrdhvam udetā arvāg astam etā — "it rises above and sets below": the sun of the fifth aeon stands up at the zenith and goes down at the nadir: a vertical day, light pouring from above downward — and the term twice as long as the northern one.
The cosmography of honey has used up its directions: east, south, west, north, the vertical: five epochs, each twice as long as the last: 1 + 2 + 4 + 8 + 16 — thirty-one terms of the world-day: the knower's time is stretched to an almost-eternity. "Almost" — because even the vertical sun still moves: the last step, beyond movement itself, will be taken by the next khaṇḍa.
