उद्यन् हिङ्कारः उदितः प्रस्तावः मध्यंदिनः उद्गीथः अपराह्णः प्रतिहारः अस्तम् यन् निधनम् एतत् बृहत् आदित्ये प्रोतम्

Translation

The rising [sun] is the hiṅkāra; the risen, the prastāva; midday, the udgītha; the afternoon, the pratihāra; the setting, the nidhana. This bṛhat is woven into the sun.
