ब्रह्मा सुरगुरुः स्थाणुर् मनुः कः परमेष्ठ्य् अथ ॥
प्राचेतसस् तथा दक्षो दक्षपुत्राश् च सप्त ये ।
ततः प्रजानां पतयः प्राभवन्न् एकविंशतिः ॥

Traducción
From him was born the Progenitor, the sole lord Prajapati — Brahma, teacher of the gods; then Sthanu (Shiva), Manu, Ka, Parameshthin, and also Prachetas, Daksha and the seven sons of Daksha; thus arose the twenty-one lords of creatures.

From the primary cause proceeding out of the Lord is born the Progenitor Brahma, and after him the prajapatis, lords of creatures, among them Sthanu (Shiva), Manu, Daksha and others. It is important here to keep the true hierarchy of creation in view: even Brahma and Shiva, for all their greatness, are not the Supreme — they proceed from Him and act as His empowered servants in the affairs of the universe. The demigods and progenitors are jivas, endowed by the Lord with special power for cosmic duties, not self-sufficient absolutes. Reverence for the part must therefore never replace worship of the Whole — the Lord Hari, from whom this entire descending chain proceeds.
