Karna falls -- the greatest of warriors, who seemed unconquerable -- struck down by Arjuna under Krishna's guidance. This clash is called 'secret even to the gods': behind the outward fratricidal strife lies a design of the Lord hidden from ordinary sight. The Lord removes the last great obstacle on the path of dharma. The fall of the unassailable Karna finally shows Dhritarashtra: the will of the Supreme is being fulfilled, and clinging to hope for adharma's victory is futile.
