Unable to defeat Arjuna in fair combat, the celebrated warriors of the Kauravas surround and kill a single boy en masse — and even rejoice over it. Here the baseness of adharma stands exposed: helplessness before a devotee turns into cowardice and villainy. Joy over an unrighteous killing is a seal of doom: one who exults in evil is already ruined by his own sin. This atrocity finally seals the fate of Dhritarashtra's sons.
