Having laid down his arms and given himself to yoga, Drona was releasing his own body when Dhrishtadyumna cut him down. War carries with it dark and bitter deeds that trespass against honor -- such is its fruit. Yet even this unfolds within the higher design: the Lord permits the fall of those who, however great, have taken the side of adharma. The lesson is severe: once a soul ties its fate to an unrighteous cause, even a revered teacher shares its outcome. Only refuge in the Lord, not in worldly attachments, shelters the soul.
