Even the fearsome weapon of Narayana -- bearing the very name of the Lord -- proves powerless to destroy the Pandavas. This is no accident: those who have taken shelter in Narayana cannot be overcome even by a weapon called by His name. On Krishna's instruction the Pandavas humbly laid down their arms and bowed low -- and thereby disarmed the invincible astra. Here lies a profound lesson: surrender to the Lord (sharanagati) and humility disarm even irresistible force. One who has taken refuge in Narayana is invulnerable.
