अनुवाद
"When I heard that Vasudeva had become their (the Pandavas') counselor, and that Bhishma, son of Shantanu, and Bharadvaja (Drona) were uttering blessings upon them — then, O Sanjaya, I lost hope of victory."

Vasudeva Himself became the Pandavas' counselor — and there is no better guidance than the Lord's; even the Kuru elders, Bhishma and Drona, utter blessings upon the Pandavas, secretly wishing for the triumph of dharma. When the guide is the Lord Himself, and the righteous elders bestow their blessings, the outcome is already decided. The devotee who accepts Krishna's guidance walks a path on which dharma itself and the hearts of the righteous stand on his side.
