यदाश्रौषं श्रान्तहये धनंजये ।
मुक्त्वा हयान् पाययित्वोपवृत्तान् ।
पुनर् युक्त्वा वासुदेवं प्रयातं ।
तदा नाशंसे विजयाय संजय ॥

अनुवाद
"When I heard that, when Dhananjaya's (Arjuna's) horses had grown weary, Vasudeva (Krishna) unyoked them, gave them water, let them rest, and, yoking them again, drove the chariot onward — then, O Sanjaya, I lost hope of victory."

The Lord Krishna Himself, having become Arjuna's charioteer, unyokes the weary horses in the midst of battle, waters them, and yokes them again. This is a striking picture: the Supreme Personality of Godhead takes on the humble role of a servant — tending even to the horses for the sake of His devotee. Here is the sweetness of bhakta-vatsalya: the Lord, whom all the worlds serve, Himself becomes the servant of one wholly devoted to Him. Conquered by love, the Supreme takes upon Himself any labor for His devotee's sake.
