देवनागरी
उभे संध्ये जपन् किं चित् सद्यो मुच्येत किल्बिषात् ।
अनुक्रमण्या यावत् स्याद् अह्ना रात्र्या च संचितम् ॥

Whoever recites even a little [of this chapter] at both twilight hours is at once freed, through the anukramani, from all the defilement accumulated through the day and through the night.

Reciting this chapter at the morning and evening sandhya immediately cleanses one of the sins gathered over a day and night. This again reveals the nature of hari-katha: the word about the Lord carries a purifying power that acts at once. Regular recourse to it, morning and evening, keeps the heart clean. The meaning here runs deeper than mere ritual: constant remembrance of the Lord (smarana) through His word washes away defilement and keeps the soul pure day after day.
