The third etymology: āyāsyaḥ — Āyāsya, an udgātṛ-seer of old: āsyād yad ayate — "it goes (ayate) from the mouth (āsya)" — āsya-ya — Āyāsya: "the Mouth-issuing".
The triad of names is assembled: Aṅgiras (the sap of the limbs), Bṛhaspati (the lord of speech), Āyāsya (issuing from the mouth) — three great ancients prove to be three views of one prāṇa: from within the body, from the side of the word, at the very gate of sound. So the Upaniṣad teaches us to read tradition: behind the pantheon of names is one Life in different ministries; the veneration of many names is no polytheism when one knows Whose titles they are.
