सर्वकर्मा सर्वकामः सर्वगन्धः सर्वरसः सर्वम् इदम् अभ्यत्तः अवाकी अनादरः एषः मे आत्मा अन्तर्हृदये एतत् ब्रह्म एतम् इतः प्रेत्य अभिसंभविता अस्मि इति यस्य स्यात् अद्धा न विचिकित्सा अस्ति इति ह स्म आह शाण्डिल्यः शाण्डिल्यः
sarvakarmā sarvakāmaḥ sarvagandhaḥ sarvarasaḥ sarvam idam abhyattaḥ avākī anādaraḥ eṣaḥ me ātmā antarhṛdaye etat brahma etam itaḥ pretya abhisaṃbhavitā asmi iti yasya syāt addhā na vicikitsā asti iti ha sma āha śāṇḍilyaḥ śāṇḍilyaḥ
Working all, desiring all, all-fragrant, all-savoured, embracing all this, silent, unperturbed — this ātman of mine within the heart, this is Brahman. Him I shall attain on departing hence. He who has [this certainty] has, truly, no doubt. So said Śāṇḍilya — Śāṇḍilya.

The vidyā's close repeats the portrait and professes the way: eṣa ma ātmāntar-hṛdaya etad brahma — "this ātman of mine in the heart, this is Brahman": etam itaḥ pretyābhisambhavitāsmi — "Him I shall attain on departing hence"! Not "I shall dissolve", not "I shall understand" but abhisambhavitāsmi: "I shall come up to Him, I shall come to be with Him": the goal is named as a meeting with Him who has been described as all-savoured and light-formed.
And the condition is a faith without a crack: yasya syād addhā na vicikitsāsti — "he who has an [unshakable] 'truly' has no doubt": iti ha smāha śāṇḍilyaḥ śāṇḍilyaḥ — "so said Śāṇḍilya, Śāṇḍilya" (the doubled name is the tradition's hallmark stamped on a jewel!).
The Śāṇḍilya-vidyā is now gathered: all is Brahman (therefore stillness); a man is his resolve (therefore build it!); the image of the Resolve is the Mind-woven, Light-formed, True-willing, smaller than a grain and greater than the worlds, MINE, in the heart; and the way is a certainty of attainment without the worm of doubt. The Vedānta-sūtra will cite this vidyā as the exemplary one; for the heart it is simple: know Whom you carry in your breast — and hold to Him until the meeting.
