चक्षुः एव ब्रह्मणः चतुर्थः पादः सः आदित्येन ज्योतिषा भाति च तपति च भाति च तपति च कीर्त्या यशसा ब्रह्मवर्चसेन यः एवम् वेद

अनुवाद
The eye is a fourth part of Brahman: by the light of the sun it shines and warms. With fame, renown and sacred lustre shines and warms he who knows thus.

The third foot: cakṣus, the eye, and its luminary is Āditya: sight shines by the sun (the eye is a solar organ: the Aitareya derived the sun from the eye!): a glance is a ray, and for the knower this is no metaphor: to look is to shine.
The fruit is the same, a shining and a warmth of fame: he whose gaze is a foot of Brahman looks with blessing: people are warmed by his glance as by the sun. There are gazes that are frosts and gazes that are sunrises: the third foot of the upāsanā cultivates the latter.
